How To:

  1. To make the date nutella: Start by toasting your hazelnuts, roast your hazelnuts at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Keep a close eye on the hazelnuts so they do not over toast, stir every couple of minutes.
  2. Once hazelnuts are toasted, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Once they have cooled slightly, rub the hazelnuts to try to remove as much of the skin as possible, this is easiest when the hazelnuts are still warm.
  3. When you have removed as much of the skin as possible, transfer to a food processor and blend until a smooth hazelnut butter forms, scraping down the sides as needed.
  4. Once smooth, add remaining ingredients to the food processor, cacao powder, date nectar and sea salt. Process until smooth. Adjust taste as needed, adding more cacao powder if you want a more chocolatey flavor and add more date dectar if you want it sweeter. Spread on your favorites and enjoy! Nutella will last in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  5. To make the mixed berry chia jam: To a small saucepan add your frozen (or fresh) mixed berries, ¼ cup water and juice from half of a lemon. Cook on low-medium heat until berries soften.
  6. Once berries have started to cook down, smash the berries with a fork or bar muddler until they have broken down. Once berries break down, add your chia seeds and cook until a jam like texture forms. Should take about 10 minutes.
  7. When fully cooked down, let cool. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour, serve and enjoy! Chia jam will last in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
